The Malesia region and Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument offer excellent opportunities for cycling and mountain-bike tourism. The varied terrain, network of local and mountain roads, traditional villages and seasonal mountain settlements, and attractive views of Cijevna Canyon and the surrounding mountains make the area particularly appealing to those seeking active holidays and two-wheeled exploration of nature.
A particularly interesting hiking and cycling route for exploring Malesia runs from Dinoša towards Kučka Korita and Lake Rikavac. It starts in Dinoša, close to the Cijevna River, and climbs gradually through Stjepovo and Poprat towards the Zatrijebač mountain settlement and the higher parts of the Kuči Mountains. It then passes through Radeča to Lake Rikavac, one of the most attractive mountain destinations in this part of Montenegro.
This route connects the Cijevna Valley with high mountain landscapes and allows visitors to experience the remarkable diversity of Malesia within a relatively small area: from Mediterranean and karst landscapes at lower elevations, through traditional villages and cultural landscapes, to mountain pastures, seasonal settlements and the glacial Lake Rikavac.
Cycling is therefore one of the best ways to explore Cijevna and Malesia actively and sustainably. Further development and connection of existing routes, waymarking, provision of rest areas and viewpoints, and links with local food, accommodation and other services can support sustainable tourism while bringing additional benefits to local communities.
