Parks Dinarides – Network of Protected Areas of Dinarides has donated firefighting and wildlife monitoring equipment to Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument.

„We are pleased to continue supporting the management authority of Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument. The development of the first five-year Management Plan for this protected area is currently underway, and we have also provided essential equipment for field operations. The donation includes five backpack fire extinguishers, five fire beaters, and three camera traps, with a total value of €1,500. We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide tangible support to protected areas through activities such as these“, said Zoran Mrdak, President of Parks Dinarides.

Representatives of Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument LLC emphasized that the equipment has arrived at an important time, just ahead of the fire season.

„The donated equipment represents significant support for our efforts to conserve and enhance the natural values of Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument. It is particularly important that the equipment has been provided ahead of the fire season, as it will contribute to more effective preventive measures and faster responses in the field. At the same time, the camera traps will strengthen our wildlife monitoring activities and enable more effective data collection, which is essential for planning and implementing conservation measures within this protected area“, stated Adnan Drešaj, Director of Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument LLC.

The equipment was provided through the project “Contributing to More Effective Management of Cijevna Canyon Natural Monument – Phase II”, implemented by Parks Dinarides – Network of Protected Areas of Dinarides and funded by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
